Coronavirus at AustAsia

On 21 March 2020, Australia’s Prime Minister Scott Morrison said of the Coronavirus: “This is a once-in-100 year type event, we haven’t seen this sort of thing in Australia since the end of the first World War, but together we are of course up to this challenge…” and he warned the disruptions could continue for “… at least six months… it could be much longer.”

Including announcements made by the federal and state governments over the weekend, various assistance and stimulus packages in the vicinity of 200b Australian dollars have been declared to keep Australian businesses and employees working, while everyone pulls together until things return to relative normality.

Changes at AustAsia Group

During these uncertain times, AAG is striving to stay ahead of the curve and over recent days we have implemented the following measures to limit the effect of the Coronavirus on our staff, our clients and our day to day business operations:

  • All face to face client meetings have been cancelled until further notice.
  • We are still available to assist you via email, telephone and video conferencing
  • Our staff has been relocated throughout our office, including our Boardrooms etc., to comply with the government’s 2m social distancing guidelines and to keep working for our clients.
  • We’re continually reading and reviewing all of the information being provided by governments, banks, the ATO and other financial industry participants. This helps us to keep abreast of all of the changes and updates that are being announced for the various stimulus and assistance packages being offered to individuals and businesses.
  • We’re focusing on doing the critical tasks to help you through these difficult times, like making sure your BAS is lodged on time so you can access the various assistance packages as soon as possible.
  • We’ve suspended all non-essential activities for the time being.

Please continue to visit our Web site for the latest updates. We will endeavour to keep you informed of all the critical issues as they come to our attention.

Best Regards
